The addition of wedding videography to a wedding budget for most couples is a necessary one. But looking at the prices for some packages and what they include does not always add up. When dealing with wedding videography prices, it is not just about what is most affordable. Often it is about what the couple wants.
Some of the ‘mile in the sky’ packages do not include what could be very essential to one couple so they tack on another $100+ to $500+ to include them.
Finding a package that is all inclusive is sometimes better than a la carte anyway, simply because sometimes the service you were on the fence about turns into something you love.
Prices tend to vary a bit by state but mostly by what different services offer.
Videographers generally offer a basic package that runs a couple from the higher end of $400 to about $1000. Basic packages are generally just the ceremony up to a certain amount of time, a few customized DVDs with personalized menu options, wedding credits and background music on the DVDs of the couple’s choice.
The next step up in packages usually has a clever little name and is between $1000 and $1300 which usually includes one or two more enhancements to the basic package and should offer more videoed time.
Then we have the ‘specialized’ packages. A lot of wedding videography prices from this point to their absolute top of the line packages can vary from $1300 to over $7000.
Packages that seem to be insanely high should not automatically be passed over however. Not only do these offer the ‘movie effects’ on your special day, meaning the quality of the video is unsurpassed, but they are generally ‘lump’ services.
The seriously high amount includes photography packages and a DJ. Not to mention that both were probably already on the checklist, and probably higher than the videographer. These packages generally also include guest interviews as well as interviews of the bride and groom, sometimes reenactments of how they met as well as the wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, bride getting ready, the groom getting ready and so on.
The ‘works’ are all interchangeable at this point basically, and in the long run these higher end wedding videography prices can actually save you money.
